Committees Descriptions

Mentorship

Coordinator: Aayush Jain - (aayushj@gmail.com)

This committee will focus on working with Habitat for Humanity families' children and guiding them about college and how they can better their chances. Once established, we will expand by pairing each kid with a H4H member so that they can provide general guidance and be there for the kids.

Poverty Education and Awareness (PEA)

Coordinators: Liz Russo - (earusso@ucdavis.edu)
Malulie Tongprasert - (
mtongprasert@ucdavis.edu)

A means for the members of Habitat and those involved with the fight against poverty to speak out to both the university and the greater Davis community as a whole. We will be organizing events for Poverty Awareness Month (or Week), including guest speakers and documentary showings. We will also be working with the Outreach committee to help organize events, i.e., benefit concerts, in order to incorporate our awareness initiatives into their events.

In short, our goal is to reach out to the community to create a greater awareness of poverty, its proximity to our own lives and things that individuals can do to make a difference. We will be greatly working with other campus and community organizations to achieve this purpose.

Publicity and Outreach

Coordinator: Brian

In this committee, we will be publicizing H4H by posting fliers and spreading the word. We will also be getting people to join the group and learn about what habitat does as well as the goals of the group. Beyond publicizing we will be doing outreach to different clubs and organizations like, calpirg, that share common interests to aid in the foundation and growth of our group.

Fundraising

Coordinator: Nisha Shah - (nbshah@ucdavis.edu)

The fundraising committee will be involved raising money for the club to use for activities as well as for donating money to H4H Yolo. Our club's goal this year is to raise over $100,000 to help fund a house for H4H. Join this committee and come help brainstorm and plan out activities. From car
washes, to concerts, every idea and activity will count!

Come gain some leadership skills, make friends, and help out others.
